Question: With the auto zap 5, if storing for a long period is it ok to take the batteries out to prevent any corrosion? Or does this affect any settings etc.. Carlo
Answer: Yes, please remove the batteries before long-term storage. We have seen a number of corroded, leaking and exploded batteries over the years. People forget to look in the battery compartment to see the state of older batteries stored there.
Remember, when re-inserting batteries into your AutoZap 5 zapper, remember the RESET procedure. Please refer to the link, but in a nutshell, close the battery cover, stop and wait 10 minutes before pressing the Start button. This will allow the internal components to reset, and after the 10 minutes you can press the Start button. If you forget, you will have to remove the batteries and begin the process again.
