Hi there; I love my [AutoZap] zapper. A friend of mine told me that I could kill myself if it shorted out while I was using it.
Is this correct?

Dear C.S.,

Absolutely NOT, no way, nohow!!! The AutoZap series of zappers have built-in current limiting which ensures that you can not be hurt by the output current, and the AutoZap itself cannot be damaged by shorting the output leads together. Your AutoZap is protected against all kinds of damage from shorts and static electricity shocks as well. Safety is the number one priority in our zapper designs, but believe me, there are plenty of other zapper manufacturers out there willing to sacrifice safety to save a few bucks or through ignorance of basic electronic design principles.

The zappers that can kill you if they fail are the ones that connect to household mains electrical supply via a plug-in AC power adapter, like the “Ultimate Zapper“, the “Mayco zapper” and the “Zapper Digital.” Dr Clark strictly warned against ever plugging a zapper into the wall socket, precisely because of this shock hazard. As an electronics engineer I encourage everybody to use common sense and avoid these potentially lethal hazards.

Some of the most dangerous wiring I’ve ever seen has been in the “Zapper Digital”, which is assembled in India and is ruthlessly marketed throughout North America. These were previously fraudulently marketed on eBay as “AutoZap Zappers”.

With our microprocessor-controlled precision genuine AutoZap zappers there is no danger of electrocution because they are powered by batteries – as recommended by Dr. Hulda Clark. Unlike other battery-powered zappers, however, the AutoZap 5 lasts an extremely long time on a pair of AA batteries.

Hope this helps!
Arthur

PS: here is a video dealing with AC-powered, so-called “zappers”. Buyer beware.
